Nana’s Lasagna Casserole

Ingredients:

1-pound Ground beef
Prego spaghetti sauce (I usually use “Traditional” or “Meat Flavored”)
Small container of small curd cottage cheese
Mozzarella cheese
Lasagna noodles
Oregano/pepper

Preparation Directions:

Brown ground beef and drain fat.  Add Prego sauce and simmer. I add pepper and oregano to the meat sauce.  Cook lasagna noodles according to package directions and drain.  Layer in baking dish: 

Meat sauce (1/3)
Lasagna noodles (about 5-6)
Cottage cheese
Mozzarella cheese
Meat sauce (1/3)
Lasagna noodles (about 5-6)
The remainder of meat sauce
Mozzarella cheese

Baking Instructions:

Bake at 350 for 30-45 minutes.   I often bake for 30 minutes covered with foil and then remove foil and bake for additional time until cheese is hot and bubbly.  When making a large family size lasagna; I use 2-3 pounds of ground beef, a large Costco size jar of Prego, and a large container of cottage cheese.
